South East Youth Stakeholders Forum Cautions Faceless Groups Over Inciting, Baseless Remarks Against Enugu Transport Commissioner, Dr. Obi Ozor
By Eke Tv
South East youths, under the auspices of the South East Youth Forum (SEYF), have issued a stern warning and disclaimer to some faceless groups such as Concerned Youths of Enugu State, over a recent remark against Dr. Obi Ozor, the commissioner for transport Enugu State, demanding that these youths should rather take the time and strength to praise the massive transformation in Enugu State through the ministry of transport, Enugu State.
In a statement released by the leadership of South East Youth Stakeholders Forum, the group expressed disappointment on the propagator noting that asking for the resignation of a buoyant commissioner suggested an intent to undermine the executive Governor of Enugu State, Barr. Peter Mbah for appointing a technocrat who is already transforming the transportation system in Enugu State.
The group described the remarks from the faceless groups “Concerned Youths of Enugu State” and “NANS” as both unfortunate and inciting, unnecessary and dangerous to the transformation in Enugu State, and could weaken some aspects of critical governance required for development and sustainability in the state.
The group noted that Dr. Obi Ozor has been instrumental in fostering growth and development in the transportation sector in Enugu State, under the Peter Mbah Renewed Hope Initiatives. They noted that attempts to discredit Ozor’s efforts through inflammatory remarks are not only unfair but also detrimental to the development everyone is experiencing in Enugu State through the transport section, and will be strongly resisted by original, genuine youths of Enugu State who truly appreciate Governor Peter Mbah for appointing a working technocrat who is also from the youth constituency of the state.
The South East Youth Stakeholders Forum warned the youth and student groups in Enugu State to exercise restraint and adopt more diplomatic approach in addressing issues, noting that the younger community has an obligation to promote unity, drive development and sustainability through diplomatic engagement rather than fuel unnecessary conflicts in the state. It also warned the groups to desist from disobeying traffic rules and defiling standing orders from the ministry of transport, noting that the men employed by the ministry will not harass anyone who responsibly plays by the rules. “The rules keep the state moving with less traffic jams”, it added. They urged the youth and student groups to devise the dialogue pattern of settling matters rather than the confrontational.

Reaffirming it’s stand, the group noted that no administration has experienced the level of transformation in the transport sector headed by Dr. Obi Ozor, under the administration of Governor Peter Mbah.
The group further stated thus;
Enugu State, through the ministry of transport is undergoing a major transportation overhaul driven by Gov. Peter Mbah’s administration, featuring the commissioning of several ultramodern bus terminals and the introduction of over 200 CNG – powered buses to enhance, modernize, and sanitize urban mobility. This initiative includes cashless, IoT-enabled, and eco-friendly public transport, aiming to reduce commuting costs by over 40%.
Enugu State, through the transport sector has already started receiving its promised 5,000 electric taxis to promote cleaner, more sustainable, and cost-effective transportation system. This overhaul in the transport sector aims to improve safety, reduce traffic congestion, boost tourism, and support rural-urban connectivity for trade.
The group therefore warns such faceless groups to rather sue for peace and continued infrastructural development in the transport sector, extend its hand of friendliness to a working system, noting that Enugu youths cannot afford to dash out Dr. Obi Ozor for the unknown because of an alleged misunderstanding with the men of the ministry of transport.
“Haven come across your post via some unpopular blogs titled; ‘Enugu Youths Call for Resignation of Enugu Commissioner in Solidarity with NANS’, we here by state that your reasons are baseless, without facts and indepth incriminating reports against the commissioner, as we see it as a personal attack from some misguided individuals without any identity and an effort to distract the office of the working commissioner, seek unwarranted attention from sympathizers, patronizers and the governor who has always refused to patronize bad character, as such, fighting Obi Ozor is as good as fighting Gov. Peter Mbah, therefore, professing love and support for Gov Mbah while fighting his employees is ironic”.
The statement was signed by the following leaders of South East Youth Stakeholders Forum; Emmanuel Onwuegbu; Publicity Secretary, Surveyor Onyeka Ibeka; National Secretary, Chief Hon. Ezenwafor Odera PI; National Coordinator.
