His Royal Majesty, George Ejikeme Onoh, Agunecheibe III, is the Igwe of Nsude. As the ruler of the community, he doubles as the traditional Head of the Oshie Clan a union of five closely related communities bound by shared ancestry.

Nsude, as the first son of Oshie, is the ancestral homestead of the clan, and all Oshie communities look to it as their spiritual and historical root. Oshie had two sons Nsude and Eke and a daughter, Neke, who in turn had three children: Abia, Udi, and Amokwe.

For hundreds of years, a sacred rule has governed their relationship: the five Oshie communities do not inter-marry, do not wage war against one another, and cannot conspire in ways that harm any member of the clan. This tradition has sustained pence, unity, and a strong sense of shared identity across generations.

Ascending the revered throne in 2022, Igwe Onoh a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police bears the full weight of Oshie history and tradition. His role extends beyond the welfare of Nsude; he must also safeguard the cultural relevance and ancestral dignity of Oshie’s homestead.

Although his coronation in 2022 marked a new chapter in his life, he was not entirely new to royalty. His grandfather, Chief Ozo Ewu Onoh, was the first Warrant Chief of Nsude, establishing the foundation of a lineage that today rests squarely on his shoulders.

Born 67 years ago in Maiduguri, present-day Borno State, Igwe Onoh is the first son of Mr. Jeremiah Ewu Onoh and Mrs. Mary Oliaku Ewu Onoh (née Ozonwafor). His royal heritage came from his grandfather, but the inspiration for service came from his father who had the distinction as the first Nsude man to join the Nigerian Army, and a Second World War veteran.

Following this legacy of duty, the young George Onoh joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1975 immediately after secondary school. His professional journey began at the Police College, Ikeja, and later continued at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy (1984). While serving in Port Harcourt, he further broadened his professional depth by obtaining a Master’s degree in Law and Diplomacy from the Rivers State University a blend that strengthened his competence in policing, leadership, and conflict management.

Since taking the throne, Igwe Onoh has committed himself to reforming and revitalizing all arms of the traditional institution in Nsude. He has worked tirelessly to foster unity, rally the Nsude Diaspora, and mobilize collective support for community development. These efforts have already resulted in numerous projects and visible improvements across the town.

His core priorities remain security, education, and infrastructural development pillars he believes are essential for Nsude’s long-term growth. In a perfect blend of his Catholic faith with culture, he has successfully revived several cultural celebrations, restoring colour, prestige, and a renewed sense of identity to Nsude’s traditional life.
