The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Eke Ward, Udi Local Government Area of Enugu State, has commenced an aggressive grassroots mobilisation drive ahead of the forthcoming election, with party leaders charging members to close ranks, reach every community and work relentlessly to deliver victory for the party.

The resolve was made known on Saturday during a well-attended ward meeting held at Aba Ogui Hall, Eke, where party leaders, executives, stakeholders and faithful gathered to review the state of the party and strategise for the election.

The meeting, which brought together key political actors and supporters across the ward, also provided an opportunity for the party to rally its members around developmental projects in Eke, particularly the Federal Technical College Eke, while reinforcing its commitment to grassroots mobilisation.

Addressing the gathering, the party leader in Eke, Dr. Steve Igweze, commended the ward executive council led by Hon. Nonso Ogbozor for what he described as its capacity and commitment to effective leadership since assuming office.

Igweze said the leadership of the ward had demonstrated the ability to provide direction and sustain the cohesion required to move the party forward, urging members to continue to support the executive in its efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots.

He also called on the people of Eke to take ownership of the Federal Technical College Eke project, stressing that the community must play a critical role in ensuring that the institution remains in Eke.

According to him, the project represents an opportunity whose benefits would extend beyond the present generation, noting that its continued presence in Eke would create educational, economic and social opportunities for the community.

He urged the people to look beyond immediate considerations and support initiatives capable of positioning Eke for sustained development, stressing that the responsibility of ensuring that the institution remains in the community rests significantly with Eke people themselves.

Also speaking, Ozor Damion Ozoani described the forthcoming election as a political contest that would determine Eke’s standing and influence in the broader political landscape.

He urged residents to see the election as an opportunity to secure a place for Eke in the hearts of political leaders, while calling on APC members to intensify their grassroots mobilisation across the ward.

Ozoani charged party faithful to move from house to house and community to community in search of support, urging them to mobilise voters from every nook and cranny of Eke.

He recalled Eke’s reputation for electoral victories and urged party members to preserve what he described as the community’s tradition of delivering impressive results for the party.

“We have always been known as winners,” he said, urging the people not to allow the community to lose its reputation for delivering electoral victories.

Ozor Chikelu Cornelius, in his remarks, urged party members to remain steadfast and not abandon the party because of temporary setbacks or delayed expectations.

He encouraged those who had remained committed to the APC to continue to believe in the party and its leadership, stressing that genuine loyalty and hard work would eventually receive recognition.

The Eke Ward Councillor, while addressing the gathering, expressed appreciation to the people for the support and confidence they extended to her throughout her tenure.

She thanked the people of Eke for standing by her and pledged to build on her previous achievements and perform even better in any future endeavour.

The APC Councillorship Candidate, Mr. Amadi Ifeanyi, also sought the support of the people as he prepares to contest for the councillorship position.

Amadi appealed to Ndi Eke to give him their maximum support, promising to bring goodwill, effective representation and a renewed commitment to the development of the community if elected.

He urged the people to entrust him with their mandate, assuring them that he would work to protect their interests and contribute meaningfully to the progress of Eke.

The Ward Chairman, Hon. Nonso Ogbozor, used the occasion to commend the administration of Governor Peter Mbah for what he described as creating a favourable political atmosphere through its project-oriented approach to governance.

Ogbozor said the visible projects of the governor across Enugu State had enhanced the confidence of the people in government and provided the APC with a stronger platform to seek electoral support.

He specifically noted that the spread of state-wide development projects had made the party’s mobilisation efforts easier, adding that the administration’s activities had given the party talking points as it approaches the election.

However, the chairman cautioned members against complacency, insisting that favourable political conditions alone would not guarantee victory.

He charged party members and executives to become more proactive, strengthen their contacts with voters and ensure that the party’s campaign and mobilisation efforts penetrate every part of Eke.

Ogbozor stressed that victory would require a coordinated effort involving party leaders, executives, stakeholders and grassroots members.

Stakeholders who spoke at the meeting reaffirmed their loyalty to the APC and pledged to continue working for the growth and electoral success of the party.

They promised to intensify voter mobilisation across the ward and ensure that the party’s structures remain active from the grassroots to the top. They pledged to gather votes for the party’s candidates from top to bottom including Bola Tinubu for President, Peter Mbah for Governor, Osita Ngwu for Senate, Festus Sunday Amaechina Uzor for Rep, Uche Ugwu for Assembly, Hyginus Agu for Chairman, Ifeanyi Amadi for Councillor.

The meeting also served as a platform for strengthening unity among party members and reinforcing the importance of collective action as the election approaches.

Among those present were the Eke Ward Councillor, members of the State Executive Council from Eke, Local Government party executives, ward executives, party leaders, stakeholders and a large number of APC faithful.

The gathering ended with renewed calls for unity, grassroots mobilisation and unwavering commitment to the party, as Eke APC positions itself for a fresh electoral contest and seeks to retain its reputation as a stronghold of electoral victories for the party.
