Canada-Based Couple Sparks Reactions After Exchanging Public Oaths of Marital Fidelity
A Nigerian couple has become the subject of widespread discussion on social media after publicly exchanging solemn oaths pledging lifelong sexual faithfulness to one another, with both invoking severe consequences should either break their marital vows.
The couple, identified as Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue and his wife, Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, who is based in Canada, shared separate videos in which they each made declarations of commitment to their marriage.
In an earlier video that gained attention online, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue publicly declared that if he ever traveled to Canada and became sexually unfaithful to his wife, he should die, making the declaration in the name of Jesus. The oath was reportedly made as a demonstration of his commitment to remain faithful throughout their marriage.
Following the circulation of her husband’s video, Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue released her own video, making a similar public confession. In her declaration, she vowed to remain sexually faithful to her husband and stated that if she ever became unfaithful, she should die, also invoking the name of Jesus. Beyond her pledge of fidelity, she further promised to remain a good wife to her husband and a loving mother to their children.
