Held on August 1, 2026, at the Legislative Hall, Udi Local Government Council Headquarters, the election brought together students of Udi extraction studying in various tertiary institutions across Nigeria to democratically elect leaders who will pilot the affairs of the association for the next two years.
The election was organized by Comrade Wilfred Aniji (Don Willy), the Personal Assistant to the Executive Chairman of Udi Local Government on Student Affairs, while the event received sponsorship from the Executive Chairman of Udi Local Government Area, Hon. Engr. Hyginus Agu, whose administration was widely applauded for prioritizing youth development and student leadership.
From the commencement of accreditation to the announcement of results, the atmosphere remained calm, orderly, and devoid of any form of violence or disruption. Students, stakeholders, observers, electoral agents, and invited guests described the exercise as a very transparent election.
Addressing the electorate before voting commenced, Comrade Wilfred Aniji assured students that the electoral committee was fully committed to delivering a free, fair, transparent, and credible election. He encouraged participants to conduct themselves peacefully, assuring them of adequate security and a conducive environment throughout the exercise.
His assurance proved accurate as the election proceeded smoothly, with no reported incidents capable of undermining the credibility of the process.

According to him, everyone who observed the election—from stakeholders to independent observers—would confidently testify to the transparency of the process anywhere and at any time.
He appreciated the students for placing confidence in the electoral committee and thanked the Executive Chairman, Hon. Engr. Hyginus Agu, for providing the logistics, resources, and unwavering support that ensured the successful conduct of the election.
Aniji equally commended chapter presidents, student executives, stakeholders, and observers for mobilizing students and strengthening the credibility of the electoral process through their active participation.
Special recognition was also given to the security personnel, particularly the Chief of Security in Udi Local Government, Hon. Pogo Ajaegbu, whose coordinated security arrangements ensured a safe and peaceful environment throughout the exercise.

Their impressive turnout reflected the growing commitment of Udi students to strengthening democratic governance within their association.
Speaking shortly after the election, Hon.
